Materials Inspector- Dublin

The role

  • To provide day to day inspection expertise in the areas of Component and Mechatronic Inspection supporting manufacturing.
  • To complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRS) and lot inspection activities
  • To support our suppliers in helping us deliver quality product to our internal customers, through product & process investigations & evaluations.
  • To support technology transfer initiatives and new product introduction projects.
  • Major Contributing Activities:
  • Key-end results areas necessary to fulfill the position’s basic purpose.
  • Manufacturing of diagnostics instrumentation is a challenging highly regulated business with low volumes and integration of diverse technologies and complex supply chains.
  • Integrator who will be comfortable with production related demands.
  • Assess Supplier capability to meet quality requirements to ensure supplier processes are an effective fit with Siemens requirements.
  • Check specification and tolerances when requested from either production or suppliers and complete the associated dispositions.
  • Participate in design changes of component and assemblies to enhance product and reduce operator error.
Key Competencies:

Mechanical, Mechatronic and Electromechanical measurement systems – Advanced

Inspection Methodologies such as; PCBA Visual Inspection (IPC-A-610), Fabricated/Machined Metal Mechanical / Visual inspection, Precision linear measurement, non-contact measurement, Molded and Machined plastics inspection and measurement. Inspection and Measurement of Lens and focal length. – Advanced

General Inspection to Drawing; Commercial off the shelf components, inspect against vendors item or model number – Advanced

Geometrical Tolerancing (e.g. true position, perpendicularity. concentricity, angularity, roundness etc) – Advanced

Excellent Communication skills both oral and written – Advanced

Key Requirements:

Ideally 3 to 5 years relevant experience.

Minimum of a third level qualification (Certificate/Diploma/Degree) in an appropriate discipline (Quality Management, Mechatronics, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.)

This position requires excellent analytical skills, judgement and a good understanding of statistical techniques.

Experience in being part of a team with strong communications skills both written and verbal. Ability to work in technically complex multi discipline areas.
