Quality Engineer -

This is a key role in a company which designs, manufactures, installs & maintains it's own products and you will be a key part of the project team

The company is ISO 9001 compliant so keeping this is important.

The role will also require you to be involved in safety aspects of both plant & product; looking for ways to improve env. Compliance

You will be the person who carries out the quality audits of suppliers & an internal annual audit & preparing for external ones.

Maintain the ISO 9001 Quality management system including

  • Ensuring that the product meets customer requirements & ensure an investigation where there is non compliance
  • Ensuring the quality of supplied product
  • Co-ordination of the control of non-conforming product
  • Co-ordinating improvement, corrective & preventive actions
  • Internal auditing - preparation of the company for this
  • Assist with plant & product safety & environmental compliance
Skills & experience

The candidate will need a Degree/Dip in Quality etc. with at least 5 years of exp in a manufacturing environment.

Immediate duties for the Quality Engineer:

  • Incoming, in-process & final inspection.
  • Control of non-conforming product, drive to identification of the causes of defects & implement successful corrective actions to prevent repeat quality issues.
  • Ensuring calibration of measurement equipment.
  • Supplier development including supplier auditing.
  • Internal auditing.
  • Co-ordinate the periodic review of improvement, corrective & preventive actions.
Required Skill Set

  • Assertive & confident to be able to successfully resolve quality issues with suppliers
  • Interacting with personnel in Design, Manufacturing & Purchasing.
  • Inspection of product in a manufacturing plant for at least 5 years.
  • Maintaining an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Interacting with local & international, small & large suppliers on quality control issues.
  • Exp. in writing FMEAs (Failure mode effect & analysis).
  • Advanced quality experience with involvement in the introduction of new product from suppliers
  • Exp of working in a clean room environment as some of the work the company does happens there.
  • Knowlegde of machinery safety
