R&D Excellence Engineer - County Galway.

Overview of role:

To improve the measurable quality of R&D through various metrics including cost, reviews/audit and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Work with the Product Line (PL) Efficiency and Knowledge Manager to define, monitor and improve performance in the following areas;

RAISE & Design Reviews
• Support in driving improvement of the ‘RAISE’ principles within PL (Product Line)
• Support in the management and co-ordination of R&D RAISE design reviews including minutes and follow up.
• Perform design reviews for all projects within your responsibility.
• Support and challenge design and engineering teams to manage and plan risk mitigation activities
• Support technical team to resolve difficult technical issues where needed
• Assess standardisation and destandardisation requests.
•Support in tracking progress, consolidated results and reports on R&D Product Development activities
•Continuously improving the performance and adherence of the PD axis within R&D and Projects
• Reporting, monthly, the PD roadmap status along with identified owners.
• Promote corporate Values, Culture and Standards (Product, Methodology, Tools) within the PL Team of your site and control their application
• Be a strong ambassador for the Product Line on the site

Qualifications and Experience Sought:
• A Relevant Technical Engineering Degree
Exposure and hands-on experience working within product development (ideally automotive)- minimum 5 years.

  • Knowledge and or awareness V5000 would be an advantage
• Strong problem solving skills through application of proven tools and methodologies
• Strong quality process mindset
• Able to challenge individuals and teams in best practice engineering process methodologies and provide OJT
• Good team player with proven leadership and change management ability
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including customer communication management
• Confident, articulate, self motivated, determined, energetic
