Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct frequent inspections of the site and construction areas to ensure that all potential environmental risks are mitigated.

  • Document any non-conformances and launch an investigation to determine the root cause of the non-conformance.

  • Review permit to works to ensure any potential environmental risks identified and adequately controlled.

  • Ensure that all site bunds, storm drains, process and foul drains are being managed by local procedure.

  • Conduct routine inspection of same and implement improvements were deemed necessary.

  • Generate waste streams for all processes on site. Work with local teams to educate and increase knowledge on these streams.

  • Conduct regular, frequent, spot checks of various areas of the site for compliance against site procedures.

  • Document all site inspections in a manner that is auditable.

  • Update local procedures where appropriate.

  • Implement best practices where opportunities are identified.

  • Be an ambassador for recycling and promote sustainability on-site.

  • Generate site monthly waste statistics.

Education and Experience

  • 3rd Level degree in EHS, engineering or other related discipline (chemistry, physical sciences or biology) is required

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a Pharmaceutical or Medical Device organisation.

  • Working cross-functionally, identifies EHS problems and provides possible alternatives and solutions
