You will work as a Senior Health, Safety, Environment & Security Officer for our client, an established manufacturing company in the Wexford area.

As the Senior HSES Officer you will have a passion for Health, Safety, Environment & Security in a Manufacturing Environment.

This is a permanent job.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the organisations Management Systems, the Safety Roadmap, Safety Targets & KPIs.
  • Promote safe systems of works.
  • Implement Site Health, Safety, Environmental & Security policies. Monitor, evaluate and review HSE policies and practices, make recommendations and implementation of same.
  • Carry out HSES inspections and audits.
  • Lead and support initiatives to raise awareness and drive a positive culture around HSES.
  • Promote and champion the organisations Safety Behaviour Programme.
  • Lead and partake in HSES Committee meetings.
  • Implement a robust incident management policy including incident investigation (5 Why Analysis).
  • Coordinate dealings with enforcement agencies and external bodies.
  • Review risk assessments.
  • Support managers and employees to maintain safe systems.
  • Ensure routine HSES activities and checks are carried out.
  • Improve the health and safety culture, through training and awareness campaigns.
What are we looking for?

  • 3rdlevel HSE Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior HSES Officer.
  • Proven experience developing and writing health and safety statements, policies, procedures, conducting risk assessments & accident/incident investigations.
  • Experience within food, beverage or healthcare manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills, doer and very much self-aware.
