Systems Engineering Manager - Limerick

Job Overview

FRS Recruitment are currently recruiting for a new senior appointment with our client a leading multinational in Limerick. This Systems Engineering Manager role requires a strong technical background within Systems Engineering, medical device development etc. Experience with global teams is highly desirable.

The role:

  • Lead the systems engineering team with medical device expertise in design, product development, and design verification
  • Manage resource allocation and planning of the Systems Engineering team
  • Mentor senior and junior engineers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of advanced system-level technology
  • Leadership of teams with cross-functional knowledge and experiences promote understanding and resolution of in-market and product development issues
  • Working knowledge of Product Development Processes
  • Provides advice on feasibility and risks for a product
  • Extends system design for existing products
  • Responsible for coordination of system-level product development, integration, and architecture
  • Expertise in identifying key system behavior issues, identify solutions to, and driving the implementation of their solutions for new and existing products
  • Identifies opportunities, drives, and leads continuous improvement efforts.
Essential qualifications and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree. A post graduate degree is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrable track record of related work experience
  • At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to lead multi-discipline engineering project teams.
  • A strong technical background within Systems Engineering, medical device development, or similar
  • Experience in multiple areas within Systems Engineering, requirements management, systems integration and testing, system architectural planning and design, Reliability Engineering, Project Management, and Failure Modes Effects Analyses.
  • Experience setting up schedules, assigning resources and managing schedules to completion.
  • Experience interacting with external development partners.
  • Experience with global teams desirable
  • DFSS knowledge and experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the following departments: interdepartmental (with fellow engineers), cross-functional (with Marketing, Clinical Representatives, Software Engineers, Test Engineers, and Quality Engineers)
    * Must have very strong writing skills.
    * Attention to detail paramount.
