Branch Manager, Glasslyn Veterinary Clinic, Bandon, Co. Cork

Roles & Responsibilities

Primary Roles

  • Wins sales by ensuring that staff provide appropriate advice and product recommendations to large animal and small customers
  • Offers advice to large animal customers on appropriate treatments / non-prescription drugs usage / referral to Vets for diagnosis
  • Supports large animal vets in growing the large animal practice further within Glasslyn
  • Delivers excellent customer service to large animal customer group on all points of contact with Glasslyn e.g. phone, counter, email etc
  • Supports small animal practice by allocating small animal queries to nursing or appropriate other support staff
Secondary Role

  • Achieves efficiency and effectiveness by ensuring that procedures are in place and followed to manage TB testing administration, drug ordering, stock management, retail displays, office cleanliness and overall front of house presentation
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Accomplishes staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; conducting training; implementing enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards; adhering to legal regulations.
  • Completes operations by developing schedules; assigning and monitoring work; gathering resources; implementing productivity standards; resolving operations problems; maintaining training manuals; implementing new procedures.
  • Provides quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary services for large and small animals
  • Comprehensive knowledge of drug and non-prescription drug treatments for large and small animals

Experience & Training

  • 3rd level qualification in Agriculture Science / Veterinary Practice
