Operations Director

Wavebreak Media is a leading producer of compelling visual content for the global stock media Industry with channel partners located in 60 countries around the world. We are currently looking for an experienced operations director to join our senior management team in the next exciting phase of growth for the company. Reporting to the CEO, you will manage across various departments within the company and lead the efficiency and growth of these departments.

It will be your role to make sure that the organisation is running to its maximum, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of customers and clients. This position will require an ability to resolve different issues in a timely manner across different departments. You will be responsible for ensuring the most efficient management of the company’s production of high quality media content for a global market.


  • Assist in developing strategies and implement plans to improve all aspects of operations.
  • Ensure that operational processes stay within agreed upon budgets and timelines.
  • Implement, manage and evaluate operational processes and procedures, in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organization.
  • Lead financial planning and production scheduling supervision.
  • Supervising and making necessary changes to resolve issues across various departments.
  • Work with various departments to improve efficiency and growth.


  • The chosen candidate will need to have the following skillset:
  • The ability to understand financial performance and direct responsibility for contributing to the organizations' financial performance.
  • Preparation of sales projections and expense budgets, and analyse profit & loss statements and balance sheets.
  • The ability to motivate the team. You will need to contribute to the growth of a strong team and develop positive relationships among team members.
  • The ability to measure staff performance. Setting objectives for each of your team members and be able to measure their progress.
  • The ability to create a positive learning environment. Providing specific, timely and respectful coaching and feedback to the team to ensure operational excellence and to improve individual performance.
  • The ability to ensure that departments are adequately resourced to ensure the maximum speed to market for the product is obtained.
  • The ability to prioritise and manage time in a manner which ensures that business goals are met.
  • The ability to ensure that staff adhere to policies and follow practices within the organization and government regulations.
  • The ability to lead and inspire those around you to reach the highest standards.
  • The ability to deeply understand customer needs.
  • You will need to be an effective communicator on many different levels across the organisation.

  • 3rd level qualification in Business or Finance.
  • Project management, organizing, planning and coordination skills.
  • Process excellence, lean concepts and tools.
  • Business acumen, financials i.e. experience in budgeting & costing.
  • Ability to lead cross functional team and interact at different levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle conflicting interests, and make decisions.
  • Ability to work independently under general direction from the CEO and prioritize clearly the most relevant assigned tasks, managing time accordingly.
  • Team player, who focuses on the overall performance of the organisation.
  • Driver for innovation and change to ensure efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Can-do mentality, agility & flexibility able to work to goals and deadlines.
  • Communicative Leader who inspires those around him/her.
  • Must have excellent oral and written English.

  • Industry specific experience
  • Chartered accountant
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
