Strategy and Transformation Lead (5 Year Contract)

Job Description

The purpose of this role will be to develop strategy following a design thinking methodology. The development of the new strategy will be fact driven, leading-practice based, and grounded on a broad stakeholder consultation. Thereafter the role will focus on implementing the strategy through constant innovation and transformation to drive performance.

Developing the strategywill comprise:

  • runningasignificantnumberof stakeholderengagementevents such as design-thinking workshops, regional focus groups,townhall meetings, webinars, andsurveys;
  • Collating the extensiveinputsandlearningsfromtheseevents to develop a thematic strawman
  • Identifying high impact opportunities, novel new ideas and assisting in the selection of the most appropriate for the new strategy
  • Iterativelydrafting and communicatingthe new strategy

The newstrategywill be:

  • Developed using world-leading strategy development practice
  • Basedonextensive datagathering
  • Evidencebasedandfullysubstantiated
  • Widely supported

Key Responsibilities

  • To lead strategy development
  • Engagement and consultation withallinternaland external stakeholders;
  • Toassesscurrent activities and policies toinformthe development of the newstrategy
  • To manage the processofdata gathering, analysis & corresponding reportpreparationfor the developmentofthe newstrategy
  • Project Management

Key Expertise:

  • Demonstrablysuccessful organizational strategydevelopment
  • Innovative and disruptive thinking mindset
  • High-level workshop and event facilitation preferably using a design led approach
  • Excellentoral andwrittencommunicationskills
  • Excellent interpersonalskills
  • Proven trackrecord ideallywith5years post qualification experience in a relevant role.

  • Excellent organisationalskills;
  • Ability tobeateam player,communicateprofessionally(both orally and in writing)andinteract at variousprofessional,scientificandadministrativelevels;

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Candidates holding an MSc or PhD in a STEM discipline would be desirable.
  • Proven track record ideally with at least 5 years’ innovation experience in either academia or industry.
