Summary of Functions:

The Quality Technician is responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply withqualitystandards at our manufacturing sites supplying moulded products to the Medical Device market. Responsible for providing quality assurance support for non-conformance investigations, validation activities, root cause analysis and monitoring the quality aspects of day-to-day manufacturing activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Open communication and reporting to operators, supervisors and engineers on quality issues, leading and assisting problem solving activities and implementing quality improvement projects

  • Provide guidance on quality procedures to operators and engineers

  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO 13485 standards

  • Provide hands-on line support to the manufacturing line, acting as a key memberof the Line Support Team

  • Direct involvement in continuous improvement projects and initiatives

  • Maintenance of quality metrics

  • Preparation of quality reports for quality meetings and management reviews

  • Provide support to the implementation of process controls and CAPA systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements

  • Act as an effective team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions and practices

  • Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritising, communicating and resolving quality issues

  • Suggestchanges in procedures and standards to facilitate work efficiency and maintain quality

Key Competencies Required:

  • Pro-active approach to work with hands on ability

  • Ability to interpret, communicate, and work from drawings and specifications

  • Flexibility to work with all levels across multiple departments

  • Familiarity with

    • Full Validation Life-Cycle Review

    • Test Method Validation

    • Gauge R&R Studies

  • cGMP knowledge

  • High work standards

  • Experience in manufacturing environment with a certificate or diploma in an engineering or quality discipline.

  • Good mathematical and communication skills are necessary

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are required

  • Strong project/time management experience

  • Working knowledge of Micro-Vu Precision Measurement Equipment
