  • Provide advice and financial support to the Site management team and wider finance department. Interpret and communicate financial data to non-financial site managers
  • Preparation of monthly and year-end management accounts for the facility. This will include inventory reconciliations, cost allocations, journal entries, accrual and pre-payments schedules, gross margin and operating costs variance analysis, and explanations/commentaries on same
  • Provision of detailed weekly financial and non-financial operational KPIs, including on throughput, material utilisation efficiency, energy usage, payroll & maintenance spend, finished product composition/quality and environmental costs
  • Preparation of annual financial budgets, including projections of inputs and costs, calculation of raw material efficiencies, finished goods of bills of material, gas and electricity consumption, rostered payroll costs, fixed and variable overhead spend, cost allocations and product profitability analysis.
  • Identify areas for Continuous Improvement and cost reduction.
  • Initiate and drive Problem Solving Events (PSE) and local improvement initiatives in your area
  • Weekly financial reporting on key profitability metrics e.g. gross margin analysis, production analysis, energy price / volume / efficiency variances, and maintenance & labour spends
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of liquid milk movements and milk solids profiles on a daily and weekly basis. Calculation of material yield variances on same.
  • Review ingredients, detergents and treatment agent usage on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Over-see Goods Inwards controls and procedures – including timely raising of purchase Requisitions, POs, and GRNs
  • Conduct inventory analysis and controls, including stock audits / cycle counts and inventory reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of Capital Expenditure Proposals. Monitor spend on Capital projects vs target
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on behalf of the Mallow site. Ensure auditor queries and requirements are addressed in a timely manner

  • Third level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • 7 years + accountancy experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills. Commercially minded with strong business acumen
  • Excellent understanding of the cost drivers, key issues and challenges facing a manufacturing organisation
  • Flexible and resilient approach, problem solver with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Results orientated, Customer focused.
  • Ability to apply technical skills to the job at hand
  • Strong computer literacy and competent with accounting and Microsoft office packages
  • Previous use of Oracle is advantageous
  • Proven track record of strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and focus on and meet deadlines
