Environmental & QA Specialist -

This is a unique and wonderful role to lead the implementation of the internal audit function in relation to H&S, Environmental & Quality standards. You will ensure systems, processes & theaudit function meeting hydrological & environmental best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the co-ordination of Env., H&S & Quality Audits.
  • Complete trend analysis & develop insights & strategies to improve performance & compliance.
  • Prepare the monthly Internal Audit KPI reports.
  • Lead Quality Assessor presentations relating to audit results & opportunities.
  • Provide specialist input into Risk Review, Safety & Env. Mgt Plan
  • Develop & deliver on annual Quality Audit Plans.
  • Ensuring audit stds & protocols accurately reflect obligations & commitment under FSC, PEFC & OHSAS 18001 stds, compliance procedures & policies.
  • Proactively review & develop QA audit protocols on a periodic basis based on feedback from QAs, audit verifiers and management
  • Develop & implement effective strategies & programmes to ensure ongoing protection of the water Env. in compliance with EU Water Framework & Habitats Directives & Certification Std.s.
  • Identify & address key information gaps on best mgt practices in hydrology.
  • Support delivery on Env. projects in conjunction with other key Env. regulatory stakeholders &/or universities.
  • Champion & communicate protecting aquatic Env. & give hydrological & Env. advice
  • Proactively become a 'key influencer' on on best practices & measures to ensure compliance.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead & influence beyond direct authority.

  • Education & Exp: Relevant Env./science/forestry (at least HETAC Level 8)
  • Understanding of water hydrology or related area plus 5 years relevant experience.
  • Experience in project mgt with a proven track record of delivering on objectives.
  • Possess a good knowledge Env. compliance & auditing.
  • Engage & negotiate with Env. regulators & non-government agencies alike.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge & exp of safe-working Env. & ensure compliance with Env., regulatory & quality stds.
