About EirGrid
EirGrid operates at the heart of Ireland’s electricity system, ensuring a safe, secure and resilient flow of power to homes, communities and businesses every day. It is also enabling the future electricity system Ireland needs - cleaner, more dynamic and capable of supporting long term social and economic growth.
This work takes place in a complex, fast changing environment where energy security, affordability and sustainability must be carefully balanced. EirGrid plays a critical national role in enabling the transition to a low carbon electricity system while supporting national policy and long term investment.
Offshore wind is central to this transformation and will play a defining role in achieving Ireland’s 2030 and 2040 climate ambitions. EirGrid is establishing a dedicated Offshore business to plan, develop and deliver the transmission infrastructure required to integrate offshore renewable energy at scale.

The position spans end to end delivery of major offshore infrastructure, from early planning and consenting through to construction and asset management, while ensuring strong governance, risk management and alignment with international best practice.
You will bring deep sectoral experience and the credibility to operate at the highest levels, working closely with Government, regulators, developers, funders and partners. You will lead commercial engagement with offshore developers, support readiness for debt capital markets and guide delivery within a multi billion euro investment programme.
Key Responsibilities
• Set the long term vision for offshore transmission aligned with national energy policy and EirGrid strategy.
• Establish the organisational structure and operating model for a new business unit.
• Oversee the design, development, construction and commissioning of offshore transmission assets.
