The Role
The Payroll Officer will work as a member of the Finance Department of Corlann South with primary responsibility for the preparation and processing of payroll. Payroll is processed on a fortnightly basis. The person appointed will complete their tasks, including those listed below, to the highest standard.
The Candidate:
Each candidate for the appointment must
· Have a minimum 3 years professional experience in processing payroll
· Have a QQI Level 6 (or above) qualification in Payroll, Accountancy, Business Studies, Commerce or equivalent / recognised professional accountancy qualification / IPASS Certificate in Payroll Techniques / IPASS Professional Payroll Manager.
· Have Strong IT skills, specifically in payroll processing tools/software and MS office skills, particularly Excel and Word
· Have a ‘can-do’ approach with the ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet all required deadlines
· Have ability to work on own initiative and willingness to assume significant responsibility, ownership and accountability
· Have flexibility and adaptability with a logical approach to problem solving and sound judgement
· Excellent accuracy and attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
· Interpersonal skills that enable you to interact with colleagues at all levels within and outside of the Services
· Written and spoken communication skills that allow you to inform and advise others clearly
· Fluent in English, both verbal and written
· Have excellent numeracy, analytical, communication and organisational skills
· Have an appreciation of the needs and rights of people with intellectual disabilities
· Possession of a “B” class clean Irish Driving Licence which qualifies you to drive on Irish roads is desirable
Salary Scale: Clerical Grade V - €52,235 - €62,485 incl. 2 LSI’s per annum (1/2/26 Consolidated Scales)
*Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of your starting date. Failure to produce this will mean that you will receive any incremental credit (if applicable) from the date of submission of documents.
