Agus muid ag bogadh i dtreo an fhuinnimh ísealcharbóin amach anseo, tá deis anseo an-tionchar a imirt. Tá an ról mar chuid den fhoireann Ailtireachta san Oifig um Chlaochlú agus Teicneolaíocht, atá freagrach as straitéis TF, ailtireacht agus dearadh réitigh. 
An Deis
Beidh an t-iarrthóir a n-éireoidh leis nó léi freagrach as tionscadail TF a stiúradh síos na conairí teicniúla cearta, agus ní hamháin na roghanna ailtireachta teicniúla a bhainistiú ach tionchar na roghanna sin ar chur chuige foriomlán an réitigh a bhainistiú. Beidh tú freagrach as a chinntiú go bhfuil ardáin teicneolaíochta agus feidhmchlár inscálaithe, insínte agus costéifeachtach i gcomhréir le straitéis TF agus riachtanais na gcustaiméirí. Beidh tú i gceannas ar dhearaí agus treochláir réitigh a chruthú ar fud eastát TF Ghrúpa EirGrid. Cuirfidh tú ceannaireacht smaointeoireachta ar fáil agus tacóidh tú le dea-chleachtais agus prionsabail an tionscail.

Príomhfhreagrachtaí

• Forbairt dearaí réitigh a threorú agus tacú le doiciméadacht dearaidh theicniúil i gcomhréir le caighdeáin agus prionsabail ailtireachta. 

• An rannpháirtíocht le páirtithe leasmhara gnó agus TF teicniúla a stiúradh chun réitigh a shainiú agus a dhearadh chun freastal ar riachtanais ghnó atá ann faoi láthair agus a bheidh ann amach anseo. 

• Roghanna réitigh a fhorbairt agus tionchar a imirt ar threo straitéiseach chun a chinntiú go mbeidh na réitigh a dhearfar ailínithe ó thaobh ailtireachta de.

• Na príomhphointí cinnteoireachta infheistíochta maidir le teicneolaíochtaí atá ann cheana a shainaithint, ag cinntiú go ndéanfar na tairbhí cuí maidir le cumas teicneolaíochta a shainaithint agus a chainníochtú. 

• Tacú le treoirlínte, prionsabail, caighdeáin agus dea-chleachtais ailtireachta a bhunú, a shainiú, a chothabháil agus a chur in iúl. 

• Meastacháin ardleibhéil agus measúnuithe tionchair a fhorbairt le haghaidh príomhthionscnaimh teicneolaíochta. 

• Anailís a dhéanamh ar threochtaí sa tionscal teicneolaíochta agus sa mhargadh agus measúnuithe teicneolaíochta agus iarratais atá oibiachtúil agus neamhchlaonta a sholáthar chun tacú le cinnteoireacht eolasach..

The Team

We’re an IT intensive business and we operate state-of-the-art, specialised business-critical systems, 24/7. As we transition to a low-carbon energy future, this is an opportunity to make a real impact. The role sits within the Architecture team in the Transformation and Technology Office, which has responsibility for IT strategy, architecture and solution design.

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for steering IT projects down the right technical paths, managing not only the technical architecture choices but the impact of those choices on the overall solution approach. You will be responsible for ensuring that technology and application platforms are scalable, extensible and cost effective in line with IT strategy and customer needs. You will lead the creation of solution designs and roadmaps across EirGrid Group’s IT estate. You will provide thought leadership and advocate industry best practices and principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of solution designs and supporting technical design documentation in compliance with architectural standards and principles. 

• Lead the engagement with business and technical IT stakeholders to define and design solutions to meet current and future business needs. 

• Develop solution options and influence strategic direction to ensure that the solutions designed are architecturally aligned.  

• Grow an in-depth understanding of the specific business areas to which you are aligned and understand organisational interdependencies to ensure an enterprise view when designing solutions.  

• Working with the Enterprise Architect, define roadmaps, ensuring that the appropriate technology capability benefits are identified and quantified. 

• Identify the key investment decision points on existing technologies, ensuring that the appropriate technology capability benefits are identified and quantified. 

• Support the establishment, definition, maintenance and communication of architecture guidelines, principles, standards and best practices. 

• Develop high-level estimates and impact assessments for key technology initiatives. 

• Analyse technology industry and market trends and deliver objective and impartial technology and application assessments to support informed decision making. 

About You

• Degree or higher in a relevant discipline. 
• The ability to figure out how technology can be used to solve business problems, translating sometimes ambiguous requirements into solutions within an overall architecture.
• The ability to identify and unblock solution dependencies and obstacles and make judgement calls between pragmatism and an ideal target state.

• Experience across multiple architecture domains, e.g. application architecture, data architecture, integration architecture, infra, security, development, operations etc. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and “sell” the concepts and objectives to the business, as well as technical leadership. 
• Knowledge of the constraints and challenges of supporting a secure high-availability IT environment
