The Opportunity
The Programme Manager will support the Head of Offshore PMO to manage the facilitation of the connection of new offshore generation customers to the transmission system and the development of network projects. It involves the project management of technically complex, large scale infrastructure projects – on-time and within budget, adhering to established governance and controls.
The role holder will manage a team working on projects across their entire life cycle – from project initiation, through construction and commissioning and right up to project close.
The role holder will be involved in working collaboratively across the organisation and leading broader engagement with our stakeholders as we strive to transform the power system for future generations. They will demonstrate an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment.
The Team
The Infrastructure office within EirGrid comprises highly skilled professionals with backgrounds in engineering and business/commerce. The Infrastructure Office is responsible for leading the development and delivery of the power system and interconnection investment programmes, in collaboration with partners, customers & communities.
The Offshore Delivery function are responsible for the successful delivery of large-scale strategic offshore infrastructure projects which is central to the achievement of our transition to a low carbon future.
The team oversee the management and programme coordination of the cross-functional work required to deliver the Connection Projects and Asset Readiness Projects which will culminate with the offshore transmission assets being connected and handed over to EirGrid’s Owner-Operatorship.
About you
Successful candidates will have:
- Engineering degree or equivalent, typically with 10 years relevant offshore experience.
- Proven experience of managing a portfolio of largescale offshore projects – overseeing the delivery of complex solutions and an ability to drive successful outcomes
- Excellent communicator, able to articulate technical concepts and analysis to non-technical audiences and business leaders
- Ability to coach and develop high performance capabilities in a changing and dynamic environment
- Expertise in conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of doing things to solve business problems, collaborating with business experts along the way
- Strong understanding of the requirements of stakeholders and industry for the transmission system and associated developments
- Commercial awareness with strong vendor management skills.
