Position: Electrician – Smart Metering

Business Unit: Smart Energy Services

Location: Southern Ireland (multiple locations including Athlone, Bandon, Clonmel, Cork, Ennis, Galway, Limerick, Tralee, and more)

Reports to: Field Supervisor / Project Manager

Role Purpose

As part of the Smart Energy Services team, the Electrician will be responsible for the installation, testing, maintenance, and commissioning of smart metering systems across the Southern region. The role supports the delivery of critical energy infrastructure projects and contributes to the transition to smarter, more sustainable energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain smart meters in domestic and commercial premises.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and company standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults associated with metering systems.
• Complete all documentation, reports, and compliance records accurately.
• Work independently or as part of a team, liaising with supervisors and clients as required.
• Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
• Represent the company professionally when working on client premises.

Requirements

• Qualifications:
• Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• Licences/Certifications:
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Valid Safe Pass.
• Experience:
• Previous experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or metering (advantageous but not essential as full training provided).
• Skills:
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
