Quantity Surveyor

A Quantity Surveyor is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Mayo based client.  You will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects the  from tender stage through to final account. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, estimators, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on budget and in line with contractual requirements.

THE ROLE:

• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Carry out quantity take-offs and material measurements.
• Monitor project costs and prepare regular cost reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments.
• Prepare interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Assess and negotiate contract variations and claims.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams.
  Ensure commercial compliance with contracts and company procedures.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and commercial risks.
• Support project delivery teams to maintain profitability and financial control.
   

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the construction industry
  Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial practices.
  Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
