The Opportunity
The successful candidate will support the Onshore PMO function in the delivery of projects within the established governance framework and across the relevant management boards. The role will be responsible for coordinating governance processes and forums, ensuring effective meeting administration, high-quality documentation, clear decision-making, and timely follow-up of actions and commitments.
Key responsibilities will include coordinating governance schedules and meetings, preparing and collating governance documentation, recording decisions and actions, assigning ownership, and tracking progress to completion. The successful candidate will provide governance advice and constructive challenge to stakeholders to support effective decision-making and adherence to agreed governance requirements.
The role will also involve monitoring the effectiveness of governance arrangements, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the implementation of enhanced governance processes, controls, and reporting mechanisms. Acting as a key point of contact for governance activities, the successful candidate will manage the Change Control process across the CIO function and maintain the Help Hub Governance pages, driving continuous improvements where opportunities are identified.
In addition, the successful candidate will coordinate monthly reporting to the Executive and EirGrid plc Board, working closely with the Strategy Office and internal stakeholders to ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and of a high standard. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills will be essential to build effective relationships across the organisation and support the successful delivery of governance and reporting activities.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a motivated, organised, and detail-oriented professional who can demonstrate:
- Experience supporting PMO, governance, or project delivery functions.
- Strong governance and meeting management skills, including the preparation of agendas, minutes, decision logs, and action trackers.
- Experience coordinating reporting activities for senior management or board-level forums.
- The ability to provide governance advice and constructive challenge to stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes across complex organisational structures.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive approach to process improvement and the implementation of governance best practices.

The Team
The Infrastructure office leads the development and delivery of the power system, onshore and interconnection investment programmes in collaboration with partners, customers and communities.
The Onshore Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for undertaking three key roles within Infrastructure; Regulation and Compliance Reporting and Auditing, Business Operations and Governance, and Business Intelligence. The team is responsible for setting the governance policies and standards to be used for onshore business readiness and large scale onshore transmission infrastructure and regulatory auditing and monitoring of OpEx and CapEx delivery.
The team also develops reports on schedule and financial information and delivery of outcomes and benefits aligned to strategic objectives across the development and readiness of the onshore transmission infrastructure to key stakeholders such as DECC and the CRU.
About you
Successful candidates will have:
- Qualification to degree level or equivalent qualification, with at least 8 years relevant post qualification experience.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
- Ability to develop a deep understanding of EirGrid governance methodology and approach
- Excellent time management skills and proven ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of relevant software packages – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
- Ability to work collaboratively and transparently with others across the business and externally to deliver outcomes in accordance with strategic objectives.
