Reporting to the Group CEO of Bon Secours Health System and General Counsel of Bon Secours Mercy Health (or designee) as part of a newly integrated position in the global system, the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) provides strategic legal leadership across the Bon Secours Health System (BSHS), ensuring the organisation meets all legal, governance, risk, and compliance obligations while supporting the delivery of safe, ethical and high-quality healthcare. 

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Serve as Senior Legal Advisor to the Group CEO, Executive Management Team, Hospital CEOs and Board
  • Oversee all system-wide legal services including governance, transactions, litigation and risk mitigation
  • Ensure BSHS complies with all healthcare regulatory obligations and licensing requirements

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification experience gained in a leading law firm or in-house legal team within a complex organisation
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within a healthcare setting, regulated industry, public body or large complex organisation

Desirable:

  • Experience in Irish healthcare law, working with regulators including HIQA, the HSE, Medical Council, CORU, Data Protection Commission, Charities Regulator etc.

Location: Based at one of the BSHS Facilities.
