Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will be part of the management team at Cork Racecourse, playing a key role in driving the commercial growth and visibility of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, securing sponsorships and partnerships, increasing non-raceday revenue, and enhancing the overall brand presence of the racecourse both locally and nationally.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify, develop, and manage new commercial opportunities, including sponsorships, corporate partnerships, and hospitality sales.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors, local businesses, tourism bodies, and community stakeholders.
- Develop strategies to increase non-raceday income through events, conferences, exhibitions, and venue hire.
- Work with the General Manager to develop and deliver annual commercial targets and budgets.
Marketing & Communications
- Create and execute integrated marketing campaigns to promote racedays, festivals, and special events.
- Manage the racecourse’s digital presence, including website, email marketing, and social media channels.
- Oversee brand identity and ensure all marketing materials align with the Cork Racecourse brand and values.
- Collaborate with media partners and PR agencies to generate positive coverage and raise the racecourse’s profile.
- Develop promotional content, including press releases, photography, video, and digital assets.
Customer Engagement & Experience
- Enhance the customer experience across all touchpoints, from ticketing and hospitality to on-site activation.
- Use data and analytics to understand audience behaviour, improve retention, and attract new visitors.
- Implement loyalty and community engagement initiatives to strengthen local support and repeat attendance.
