Customs Agent

A Customs Agent is needed by CareerWise Recruitment for our Cork based engineering distribution client. A strong knowledge of all import and export regulations and tariffs is required.

THE ROLE: The person will have responsibility for compliance to all Irish and EU regulations and legislation along with ensuring correct calculation of applicable tariffs and duties to assist with cost competitiveness. This role is ideal for an existing customs agent with experience in calculation of international tariffs along with completion of all required import documentation, necessary support documentation and schedules.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and verbal English
• Proven 2-3 years’ experience in customs clearance in Ireland.
• A clear and confident understanding of the Irish revenue guidelines in the context of customs clearance.
• Knowledge of bonded warehouse operations and required documentation and procedures
• Working knowledge of customs import & export procedures, CBAM, tariffs and Incoterms
• Knowledge of VAT, duties and Eur1
• Person must be based in Cork and eligible to work in Ireland as the role is in the office.
