A Project Manager is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our Kildare based company who is a specialist critical infrastructure and digital engineering company. This is a permanent position. You would need to take end-to-end accountability for the on-site delivery of our carrier fibre design and build projects. This role carries an extended remit beyond a standard site-based Clerk of Works: alongside day-to-day construction delivery, the successful candidate will also own key contract, commercial and client-governance activities that would otherwise sit with a dedicated Contracts Manager.
THE ROLE
- Chair the daily Morning Briefing / Toolbox Talk — crew dispatch, PPE, tickets, TM permits, works plan
- Chair the Weekly Toolbox Talk with the H&S resource
- Oversee multiple concurrent construction sections along the route
- Manage direct crews and subcontracted crews across HDD, civils, cabling, splicing and reinstatement
- Inspect works against specification and DTTAS Purple Book; maintain the defects register and NCR log
- Coordinate materials, plant and Stores dispatch
- Front-line liaison with local authority officers, residents and businesses along the route
- Daily site diaries and reports into the Contracts Director
- Act as day-to-day client interface on delivery matters and represent the client at project governance meetings
- Own the Subcontractor Quality Management process — onboarding, RAMS review, audits, defects and NCR process
- Contribute to monthly measurement and support preparation of Applications for Payment
- Own and maintain the project risk register, reporting into the leadership team
- Support local authority licensing processes (MRL / RMO) in coordination with the licensing coordinator
- Track progress against agreed commercial milestones to protect programme cashflow
- Manage day-to-day relationships with outsourced Design and Ground Investigation / Survey partners
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5-8 years civils construction site management (Clerk of Works / Site Manager / Site Agent), including exposure to contract or commercial responsibilities
- Proven experience running multiple concurrent construction sections
- Experience acting as a primary client interface, including attending client governance meetings
- Familiarity with Applications for Payment or similar commercial measurement processes
- Working knowledge of the DTTAS Purple Book
- Familiarity with MRL and RMO permitting processes
- Understanding of PSCS obligations under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013
- Safe Pass, CSCS Site Manager card and First Aid trained
- Full clean driving licence
