Senior Embedded Development Engineer

Senior Hardware Development Engineer required for Electronics client based in Shannon, Co. Clare.

Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end hardware design of embedded electronic systems (analog, digital, RF)
• Define and develop next-generation sensor platforms incorporating low-power, wireless and IoT connectivity
• Design robust products for harsh industrial environments
• Collaborate with firmware, cloud, and data teams to enable edge intelligence and connected services
• Evaluate and integrate communications technologies (LPWAN, cellular, Bluetooth, satellite)
• Contribute to system architecture decisions including power management and battery optimization
• Support development of products enabling predictive monitoring and AI-driven insights
• Ensure compliance with ATEX, IECEx, EMC, and global regulatory standards
• Drive design for manufacture (DFM), cost optimisation, and reliability
• Engage with customers to define specifications and deliver solutions

Requirements:
• Degree in Electronic Engineering or related discipline
• 7+ years’ experience in embedded hardware design
• Strong experience in analog and digital circuit design
• Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers
• Knowledge of low-power / battery-operated system design
• Understanding of communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART)
• Experience with wireless technologies (Cellular, Bluetooth, LoRa)
