Job Title: Engineering Manager – Technical Services (Aviation)

Overview
Our client is a leading provider of technical engineering services within the aviation leasing sector. They support aircraft engine transitions between operators, delivering critical engineering evaluations, records analysis, and documentation to ensure seamless lease transfers.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical expertise with team management responsibility. The successful candidate will oversee engineering operations, drive process improvements, and ensure high-quality service delivery in a fast-paced, stakeholder-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational
- Review aircraft engine performance, operational history, and technical documentation to determine maintenance requirements
- Assess engine condition and define required maintenance workscope
- Conduct detailed technical records reviews, identifying and resolving discrepancies
- Produce and validate engine transition documentation (e.g. remaining life, airworthiness limitations, service bulletin status)
- Support engine valuations through technical analysis and reporting
- Maintain and analyse engineering databases; contribute to system and process improvements
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with internal technical teams to review and approve engine documentation
- Communicate with customers and operators to support smooth lease transitions
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure maintenance activities are properly completed and documented
Leadership & Management
- Lead, manage, and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Allocate resources and prioritise workload to meet operational deadlines
- Train and onboard new team members
- Define and implement processes, procedures, and technical standards
- Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
- Strong technical knowledge of aircraft engines (essential)
- Experience in aviation engineering, leasing, MRO, or technical services environments
- Proven leadership or team management experience
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to interpret complex technical documentation and data
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Experience working with engineering databases or technical IT systems
Additional Requirements
- Customer-focused and adaptable approach
- Willingness to travel for business or training as required
- Experience with technical drawings and spatial awareness is advantageous
