A prominent Irish Organisation is looking to hire a Head of Commercial Finance on a permanent basis.

As Head of Commercial Finance, you will be a key member of the senior finance team, reporting directly to the Finance Director and leading a team of four.

You will work across the full organisation, partnering with leaders in commercial, operations, elite performance, grassroots development, events, marketing, and technology, providing the financial insight needed to shape short-term decisions and long-term strategic investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the Leadership Team, driving sustainable financial models and commercial decision-making.

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, and rolling forecasts.

  • Deliver actionable reporting and insight for the Board, Executive, and Audit Committee.

  • Provide financial oversight of major projects, events, and capital investments.

  • Lead financial input on external funding applications

  • Conduct pre- and post-investment analysis to track performance and outcomes.

  • Ensure robust financial controls in collaboration with the Head of Group Finance.

  • Contribute to the setup and operation of national development funds and grant programmes.

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Commercial Finance team.

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years in a senior Commercial Finance, FP&A, or Business Partnering role.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management across cross-functional teams.

  • Expert-level Excel and solid experience with financial systems (e.g. Sage, WAP).

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver business plans, scenario modelling, and performance analysis.

  • Excellent reporting, forecasting, and financial planning skills.

Qualifications

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

  • Confident communicator with the ability to simplify the complex.

  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability.

  • Highly organised with excellent prioritisation and time management.
