A well-established Credit Union is seeking an accomplished Head of Operations to lead its operational and administrative functions. About the Role
As Head of Operations, you will be a senior member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and working with the Board. You will oversee branch operations, IT and digital systems, compliance, credit control, and staff management. You will drive operational improvements, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all branch and back-office operations.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal and Central Bank requirements (including AML, fitness & probity).
Oversee IT systems, process improvement, digital innovation and vendor relationships.
Manage credit control, lending operations, and control of the loan book.
Lead staff performance, training, and development across operations functions.
Drive continuous improvement in member experience and service delivery.
Contribute to strategic planning and implementation of business initiatives.
Maintain high standards of governance, risk management and internal controls.
What You'll Need
Significant leadership experience in operations, preferably in financial services, cooperatives or credit unions.
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, risk and governance frameworks.
Excellent strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities (internal & external).
Demonstrable track record of implementing operational improvements and change.
Integrity, professionalism, and a member-oriented mindset.
Experience in managing multiple projects and balancing priorities in a dynamic environment.
