Intellectual Property Lead - County Cavan.

In this role you will develop and ensure implementation of procedures necessary to professionally research, track, evaluate, register, and commercialise company Intellectual Property. In addition you will be engaged in a range of research, development and innovation activities that are related to improving manufacturing efficiency and driving de-carbonisation across the manufacturing processes.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in conducting an IP audit to benchmark current status of IP protection and management.
• Work with external IP consultants and legal professionals to evaluate the current IP capability within the business and establish new IP recording practice and IP filings.
• Take responsibility for the IP strategy and develop same in line with the company objectives.
• Research the competitive IP landscape relating to a new technology or processes under development across the range of sectors where the company has a presence.
• File relevant patent protection on the RD&I output related to the various projects underway in the business.
• Establish best-practice throughout the function, and be facilitated in implementing the necessary business change aimed at achieving ISO56005 relevant standard within a 2-year period.
• Implement and oversee IP management processes for RD&I projects.
• Embed IP capability in the organisation through coaching and training of researchers and the general employee base.
• Develop organisation-wide IP policy to support a culture of innovation, and work towards business certification under ISO56005 standard.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT FOR THIS ROLE:
• A bachelor’s degree in business management or business administration, legal qualification or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical skills and technical report writing to authority submission standard.
• Previous IP management and/or RD&I experience.
• Commercial focus with demonstrable interest in innovation and sustainability.
