Intellectual Property Lead - Co. Cavan

You will be responsible for developing and ensuring the implementation of procedures necessary to professionally research, track, evaluate, register, and commercialize Company Intellectual Property. Additionally, you will be engaged in a range of research, development, and innovation activities aimed at improving manufacturing efficiency and driving decarbonization across manufacturing processes.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting an IP audit to benchmark the current status of IP protection and management.
• Collaborate with external IP consultants and legal professionals to evaluate the current IP capability within the business and establish new IP recording practices and filings.
• Take ownership of the IP strategy and develop it in alignment with the Company objectives.
• Research the competitive IP landscape relating to new technologies or processes under development across various sectors.
• File relevant patent protections for RD&I outputs related to ongoing projects.
• Establish best practices throughout the function and implement necessary business changes aimed at achieving relevant standards within a specified timeframe.
• Implement and oversee IP management processes for RD&I projects.
• Integrate IP capability into the organization through coaching and training of researchers and employees.
• Develop organization-wide IP policies to support a culture of innovation and work towards business certification under relevant standards.

Skills and Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, legal qualification, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical skills and technical report writing abilities to authority submission standards.
• Previous experience in IP management and/or RD&I will be advantageous.
• Commercial focus with a demonstrable interest in innovation and sustainability.
