Maintenance Foreman – County Cavan
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Foreman to lead and support the day-to-day activities of the maintenance function within a busy manufacturing environment.
Reporting to the Industrial Engineering department, the successful candidate will oversee the delivery of maintenance, repair and continuous improvement activities while providing leadership to the maintenance team. This position requires a proactive individual who can drive operational performance, maintain high safety standards, and support the ongoing development of maintenance processes.
This role operates on a rotating shift pattern of 6:00am–2:00pm and 2:00pm–10:00pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance team in the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance activities.
- Oversee electrical, mechanical, building fabric and site maintenance works.
- Organise workloads to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Support maintenance technicians in resolving technical issues and improving operational performance.
- Communicate effectively with production, engineering and other departments to ensure maintenance priorities are achieved.
- Promote proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and improve Health & Safety standards across maintenance activities.
- Investigate and resolve maintenance issues, recording shift activities and non-conformances accurately.
- Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
- Monitor team performance and ensure operational targets are achieved.
- Assist with maintenance improvement projects and other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Foreman, Team Leader or similar supervisory role.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a maintenance team.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Good level of computer literacy.
- Proven commitment to Health & Safety and Quality standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Flexible approach to working hours, including attendance at planned training or meetings outside normal shifts where required.
- Normal colour vision.
- Ability to undertake shift work and manual duties when required.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold one of the following:
- Qualified Electrician, or
- Mechanical, Automation or Maintenance Fitting qualification.
