Job Description

Join our company and play a crucial role in our Automation team at our state-of-the-art single-use multi-product biotech facility in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland. We are dedicated to advancing the prevention and treatment of diseases in people and animals through innovative health solutions. As an Automation Lead, you will be integral in achieving our strategic objectives related to Safety, Quality/Compliance, Supply Assurance, and Value. 

Your Core Responsibilities 

  • Provide automation, manufacturing execution systems, and technical support to ensure efficient site operations. 
  • Collaborate with the EHS Hub to develop and manage sustainable EHS programs and safety initiatives. 
  • Foster a continuous learning environment through proactive team engagement and development planning. 
  • Ensure clear work and development plans for the team, offering coaching and mentoring. 
  • Oversee the creation, revision, and implementation of all automation-related documents and reports. 
  • Develop and manage escalation plans for routine and emergency automation issues. 
  • Maintain automation systems in a GMP-compliant, inspection-ready state. 
  • Lead automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with site and global strategies. 

Who You Are 

You are ready if you have: 

  • Proven leadership experience in developing people and teams with direct reports. 
  • Accomplished background in Pharma/Biopharma or related industry. 
  • Experience in a GMP/regulated environment with knowledge of FDA, GMP, HPRA, data integrity, safety, and regulatory inspections. 
  • Significant experience managing industry platforms like Production Automation Systems, Building Automated Systems, and PLCs. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and escalate issues when necessary. 
  • Enjoy working in a team-based environment and staying current with the latest technologies and automation practices. 

Nice to have, but not essential: 

  • Proven record of accomplishments of working in a Pharma/Biopharma company or related industry is desirable. 
  • Proven ability around working cross-functionally, focusing on meeting and tracking to schedules, and embracing an interdependent work culture.
