About Your New Job
- Prepare Documentation: Create necessary documents for tender inclusion, such as Inspection Plans, programming, and Commencement Notice submissions.
- Manage BCAR Completion: Oversee the BCAR completion process, ensuring all statutory submissions are made.
- Quality Monitoring: Review Ancillary Certifier quality monitoring to ensure compliance with Inspection Plans and record-keeping.
- Site Monitoring: Conduct site visits to ensure adherence to Building Regulations.
- Meetings and Interaction: Attend and chair site meetings, and interact with colleagues, contractors, Local Authority Building Control personnel, and clients.
- Efficient Work Practices: Demonstrate efficient work practices, manage budgets, track extra services, and ensure effective resource use.
- Client Relationships: Develop and manage key client relationships.
- Staff Development: Mentor, delegate, and train staff to develop their technical, commercial, and management skills.
What Skills You Need
- Architect registered with the RIAI.
- Must be qualified to perform the role of Assigned Certifier in Ireland with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Acceptable qualifications include:
- Building Surveyor registered with the SCSI.
- Chartered Mechanical or Electrical Engineer registered with Engineers Ireland.
- Chartered Civil Engineer registered with Engineers Ireland.
- Understanding of BCAR: Strong knowledge of the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014 and the construction process.
- IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and site monitoring software.
- Leadership: Ability to plan, manage, and direct multi-disciplinary teams.
- Commercial Acumen: High level of commercial understanding and application.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in and manage teams.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment.
- Commitment to CPD: Dedication to continuous professional development and competence.
