About the Company
Our client is a member-driven representative organization that represent the Irish construction industry. They offer a wide range of services to construction companies in terms of proving advice within the political, business, economic, and regulatory landscape. Some of the areas of focus are advising construction companies while also shaping policy across public sector procurement contracts, home building, capital spending programmes, improving regions, improving the perception of construction as a contributor to the economy and showcasing the construction industry as a career of choice. Based in the Dublin office, this role provides executive support to the Director of Housing and Planning within a small, specialized team.
About your new job as an Executive – Housing and Planning role;
This role will involve supporting the Director of Housing and Planning in areas of policy and working on solutions for member issues. The role will involve a wide range of duties and collaboration with other departments in the organisation. Some of these responsibilities will include:
- Drafting policy papers and reports
- Presenting on housebuilding and planning issues
- Organizing committee meetings
- Advising members on housing and planning developments
- Advocating for housebuilders at external engagements
- Understanding the business environment for housebuilders
- Advising on technical and regulatory matters
What skill/experience you need for this Executive – Housing and Planning job;
- Must have experience in housing and planning matters; experience in the wider construction industry is desirable. Passion for contributing to "Building more homes for more people" in Ireland is essential.
- A degree or relevant qualification in planning, project delivery, housing policy/research, construction technical or building regulations, or related fields is expected. Relevant experience in construction or housebuilding will also be considered.
- Ability to use initiative to improve services for members or initiate policy/research to advance the business environment for housebuilders.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills to clearly explain complex technical, regulatory, or policy matters to housebuilders and stakeholders.
- Awareness of the sensitive political environment in which housebuilders operate.
- Ability to network across a diverse range of members.
- Experience engaging with utility providers, Local Authorities, or other state and semi-state entities.
What’s on offer for this Executive – Housing and Planning job;
The salary for this role will between €50,000 - €60,000 along with a minimum 5% DC pension and 24 days AL. The company prides itself on its flexible working arrangements and candidates can WFH two days per week. The office is based in D6 and parking is available.
