About Your New Job
- Ensure compliance: Ensure company-wide adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Risk assessments: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, with a focus on chemical risks.
- Incident investigations: Lead investigations into accidents and incidents, implementing corrective actions.
- Training programs: Deliver safety training programs, including manual handling, and maintain detailed H&S training records.
- PPE protocols: Ensure PPE protocols are followed and safety records are up to date.
- Stakeholder liaison: Liaise with insurers, external consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Safety statement: Regularly review and update the company’s Safety Statement and provide ongoing staff training.
- Performance reporting: Report safety performance and issues to senior leadership.
- Corrective actions: Track and ensure timely resolution of corrective actions.
- Subcontractor assessments: Review subcontractor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Inductions: Deliver health and safety inductions for new personnel at Head Office.
What Skills You Need
- Degree: Degree in Health and Safety or related field.
- Experience: Placement/co-op experience in a Health and Safety position.
- Certification: Certified Manual Handling Instructor.
- Risk assessments: Strong experience in risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Communication: Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Independence: Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
- Computer literacy: Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably experience with online management systems.
What’s on Offer
- Industry experience: Experience in the medical devices or pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.
- Chemical risk assessments: Experience with chemical risk assessments is a plus.
- Flexibility: A valid driver’s license is required for occasional travel to client sites.
