The Roads Capital Programme and Regional Management department is responsible for the delivery of the Roads, Active Travel programme and the Greenways Capital programme. This is delivered on a regional basis by a Regional Management team led by the respective Regional Manager. The teams are responsible for the management, promotion, and delivery of the projects in their regions. This includes responsibility for the National Regional Offices (NROs) and Project offices and delivery of the roads, active travel, and greenway projects with the assistance of the Local Authorities. The department is responsible for the delivery of Major projects as set out in the NDP 2021 to 2030 in accordance with the TII Project Management Guidelines, processes, and procedures. In addition, the Regional managers support the delivery of all other capital projects in their region including Greenways, minor realignments, pavement, safety schemes and design and construction of sections of the cycling network. The portfolio management unit supports the Regional Management teams in the overall coordination of the various programmes. The unit is also responsible for stakeholder engagement and internal co-ordination with the various units in TII. The unit supports delivery and is responsible for updating documentation, processes, and procedures necessary for effective delivery of the road programmes. In addition, this unit oversees the Greenway programme and is responsible for progressing the National Cycling Strategy. The successful candidate, under the direction of the Senior Engineering Inspector in Portfolio Management, will contribute to supporting the transition of Capital projects to more sustainable, planning design and delivery.
