A Food NPD Technologist is needed by CareerWise Recruitment for our Fermoy based food production client. The role will support the company in developing and launching new food products and formats, ensuring the highest standards of quality, taste, and compliance.
THE ROLE:
- The role involves keeping up to date with market trends, managing samples and NPD pipeline, maintaining technical documentation, and coordinating with sales, technical and production teams from concept through to product launch.
- Proactive idea generation to support the development of new products and continuous improvement for existing products.
- Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle for a range of new products.
- Organise and assist with kitchen-scale trials, scale-ups, and factory-based pilot runs, ensuring smooth handover to production.
- Liaise with suppliers to source new raw materials and understand potential new raw materials.
- Conduct sensory testing, competitive benchmarking, and product shelf-life assessments.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Dairy Science, or related field.
- 2+ years’ of experience working in a food production or NPD environment
- Knowledge of frozen product processing, including freezing curves, overrun, and texture control preferred.
- Ability to work flexibly in both office and lab/kitchen environment.
