Finance Manager – EMEA Revenue Operations (Galway City)

Overview:
Our client, a global technology leader, is seeking a qualified accountant with strong leadership and operational finance experience to join their EMEA team as Finance Manager. This is a hands-on role responsible for all revenue recognition, invoicing, reporting, and financial controls across the region. The position offers an attractive salary, performance bonus, and benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all EMEA revenue operations, including recording, review, and reconciliation of €400M+ in annual sales orders, ensuring compliance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
Manage revenue recognition, deferred revenue, VAT, and GAAP/IFRS accuracy across the region.
Lead and develop the EMEA Revenue & Controls (RAC) team through structured training, coaching, and performance management.
Evaluate team productivity, accuracy, and efficiency using data-driven measurement tools.
Collaborate with Country Controllers, Sales Leaders, and Finance Managers across EMEA within a matrix structure to align priorities.
Work cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Support, Financial Systems, and global RAC teams to streamline workflows and improve process efficiency.
Support global and regional process improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste and improving cycle times.
Prepare and review financial reports including balance sheets, contribution margin, cash flow, and accounts receivable.
Develop deep knowledge of the organisation’s financial systems, pricing models, licensing structures, account hierarchy, and commissions frameworks.
Partner with the Financial Systems team to identify inefficiencies, propose enhancements, and support testing/training for system updates.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, GDPR, and data protection standards to safeguard financial integrity.
Support internal and external audit activities, ensuring audit readiness across all revenue processes.
Conduct financial and operational analysis of the indirect channel, assessing distributor and reseller performance and providing recommendations to senior management.
Requirements
Qualified Accountant (Big 4 trained) – Essential
Minimum 2 years’ people management experience including hiring, coaching, and performance management – Essential
Experience within a high-tech or software industry environment – Desired
Strong ERP experience with GL and CRM systems exposure
Knowledge of sales administration, sales operations, and revenue workflows – Advantageous
Proficiency in analytical and reporting tools, with experience in data mining and financial analysis
