FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT – GALWAY CITY (WEST) - HYBRID

My client, a well know multinational, seeks to hire a qualified accountant to join their team. This will suit someone with a good work attitude, strong communication skills to be able to liaise cross-functionally within the organisation. This will suit someone either with 0-3 years of industry experience or someone wanting to make the practice to industry jump. Strong excel skills (vlookup) is a non-negotiable).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end Fixed Asset and Lease accounting processes to ensure compliance with IFRS and internal controls.
  • Deliver accurate monthly reconciliations and journal entries aligned with group deadlines.
  • Analyse complex financial data to provide meaningful insights and propose adjustments where required.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology and FP&A teams to align financial processes.
  • Support external audit engagements through timely preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
  • Manage 3rd party relationships to ensure data integrity and financial accuracy.
  • Produce monthly management reports and balance sheet reconciliations with precision and insight.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement enhancements to financial workflows.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of strategic finance projects within tight timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS 16 accounting for leases and asset valuation.
  • Monitor and escalate reconciliation variances promptly, maintaining transparency across stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous control enhancement and operational excellence.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) .
  • Strong proficiency in Workday Financial Management or comparable ERP systems - Desired.
  • Advanced Excel competency with ability to manage large data sets and automate reporting tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex financial statements and identify corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical capability with sound business judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver accurately within a deadline-driven environment.
  • Solid understanding of internal controls and corporate reporting standards.
  • Experience within payments, fintech, or financial services sectors advantageous.
  • Proactive mindset with capability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Genuine interest in improving finance processes through technology and collaboration.
