Electrical & Instrumentation Technician - County Leitrim.

Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Manager the successful candidate will work as part of a larger team of Electrical Instrument technicians. This is a hands-on role, and you will be installing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing industrial electrical equipment, control systems and process instrumentation. Performing troubleshooting on PLC’s, motors and sensors, following safety protocols to ensure plant equipment operates efficiently.

Responsibilities include:
• Troubleshoot, investigate & diagnose malfunctions in electrical, electro-mechanical systems, instrumentation, control, and automation equipment.
• Review and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Interpret and apply the site electrical preventative maintenance program.
• Carry out work orders in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence & full compliance to company procedures
• Perform scheduled maintenance to prevent issues and respond to emergency breakdowns promptly
• Testing, inspecting and certifying installations.
• Work with PLC systems and fault-find
• Develop in-depth working knowledge of the site electrical equipment
• Complete all work orders and associated paperwork in full
• Complete training and review of SOP's on compliance
• Follow all Health and Safety Rules and Regulations on the site.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Competencies Required:
• Trade Qualified in Electrical or Electrical & Instrumentation (QQ1 Level 6 or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience as an Electrician or Electrical & Instrumentation technician in industry
• High level of competency in electrical work
• Experience of machines & process equipment, controls & automation
• Experience in electrical & mechanical installations & maintenance
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work on own initiative, with minimum supervision, and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Ability to apply logic to solving problems
• Demonstrate initiative
• Adaptability
• Has a flexible approach to working hours (shift work, overtime and on call).
