Engineering & Facilities Supervisor – County Cork.
This role will be responsible for the safe, compliant, and effective delivery of all engineering operations in the primary unit of the plant (abbatoir and boning hall), facilities, and site services.
You will lead a dynamic team of engineers dedicated to ensuring uninterrupted production while boosting efficiency. You'll drive success by expertly implementing preventative maintenance schedules and swiftly addressing breakdown repairs to maintain a safe and productive environment.
Main Responsibilities:
To ensure supervision and safe operating procedures for visiting contractors
To ensure all PPM schedules are completed and developed using predictive and diagnostic maintenance techniques
Kickstart improvement initiatives with a hands-on and forward-thinking approach
To assist the engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of materials and replacement parts
To undertake emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient way on all production equipment and assist across all site engineering issues when required.
Assist in the installation of new equipment to the site
Attend and contribute to daily production and engineering meetings
Issue, approve and manage workload to engineering team using CMMS
Interested applicants should have:
Engineering qualification (Degree level or time-served apprenticeship or similar)
Proven maintenance experience in food or FMCG manufacturing with strong people management experience
Strong knowledge of food safety, compliance, and audit standards
Experience managing facilities, utilities, and contractors
Structured problem-solving and strong communication skills
Desirable:
PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations)
Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, CE marking of machinery.
