Maintenance Fitter - County Cavan

Our client is an ambitious and growing organisation. They have secured new business, cultivated strong and trusted client relationships, expanded their range of tailored and sustainable products, and continued to develop leading technology.

Our client is seeking a hands-on, experienced and fully qualified Maintenance Fitter to set up, install, maintain and support manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimum performance and contributing to the achievement of operational goals.

The successful candidate should enjoy practical work and be able to cope with the physical demands of the role. The position will operate on a shift rotation of 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established maintenance team within a busy manufacturing environment, with opportunities for overtime, training and additional benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day engineering services in a busy, high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Take responsibility for the overall maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Multitask and solve problems that arise on site, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation at all times.
  • Deliver a high-quality maintenance service to the production function.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are carried out efficiently, effectively and safely, in line with the maintenance strategy, and take responsibility for completing planned maintenance work.
  • Work shifts and participate in an on-call rota of approximately 1 in 5 weeks.

The Successful Mechanical Maintenance Fitter Will Possess

  • Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Qualification.
  • At least 2 years' trade experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter.
  • Ideally, experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to provide key engineering support to a busy production department.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing damaged or poor-performing equipment.
  • Ability to assist in compiling and presenting technical feedback on engineering performance relating to yield output and downtime.
  • Ability to identify and implement engineering improvements and enhancements to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to multitask and a strong track record within a maintenance environment.
  • Strong team player with good problem-solving skills.
