Maintenance Electrician - County Cavan
The Role & Purpose
Our client is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Electrician to set up, install, maintain and support manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimum performance and contributing to the achievement of operational goals.
The successful candidate should enjoy practical work and be comfortable with the physical demands of the role. The position will operate on a shift rotation of 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm, with intermittent on-call weeks.

Responsibilities
- Plan layouts and install, repair or replace wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment.
- Support and maintain preventative maintenance routines on machinery and equipment.
- Repair and maintain electrical machines, equipment and devices.
- Advise and support the production team in maximising plant efficiencies.
- Identify and resolve recurring downtime and inefficient operational issues.
- Follow diagrams or layouts of wiring and equipment, ensuring concealed wiring is installed before completion of walls, ceilings and flooring to the required standard.
- Install or modify electrical wiring assemblies and accessories, control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, machinery, equipment, switchgear and other electrical devices to the required electrical standard.
- Observe the functioning of installed equipment and systems to detect hazards and identify the need for adjustments, relocation or replacement.
- Work closely with the maintenance team and external contractors to carry out necessary maintenance, repair or installation of machinery and equipment as required.
- Work on shift and participate in call-out arrangements as determined by the schedule.
- Adhere to Safety, Emergency, ISO and relevant industry procedures.
The Successful Maintenance Electrician Will Possess
- Electrical Trade Qualification with a minimum of 1 year's experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in electrical fault finding, with a proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair.
- Solid understanding of industrial electrical equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of or experience with preventative maintenance software.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision.
- Proven flexibility and a proactive attitude.
