Mechanical Fitter - Dublin 24.
This position is being offered initially as a 3 months' contract.

Our client seeks a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join the maintenance team at the company's manufacturing facility in Citywest. The successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, fabrication, installation, and repair of plant equipment and ensure safe operations and handover to the manufacturing team using both reactive and preventive maintenance as well as continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out mechanical maintenance and repair, installation of production lines and facility equipment
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions to minimise breakdowns and downtime
• Work with various materials including mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium to fabricate parts, brackets, guards, railings, and other components using welding, cutting and metal working tools.
• Perform assembly, alignment, and fitting of machine components, e.g. bearings, shafts, couplings, gearboxes, conveyors and pumps.
• Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance tasks in line with scheduling, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and safe practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, with parts replaced, and timeline to help build a library of asset history and development of scheduling and inventory.
• Collaborate with electricians, technicians, engineers and the production team to resolve issues and implement improvements.

Qualifications & Experience requirements:
• Qualified Mechanical Fitter, Fabricator, or equivalent mechanical trade certification.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial or production environment with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in welding (MIG/TIG/Arc) and metal fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and fabrication blueprints.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and maintenance safety procedures

An advantage (not essential) to have:
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Machine shop skills (lathe, milling, surface grinding).
