Quality Technician - North Dublin (Fixed-Term Contract: 23 Months)
About the Role:
As a Quality Technician, you'll play a vital role in supporting general manufacturing operations within the Quality Department. Your primary focus will be on quality support activities in manufacturing processes, including QC product release, analysis of rejected material, and examination of warranty returns. This role is pivotal in supporting the Quality Management system processes within a regulatory environment compliant with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform technical inspections of electro-mechanical parts and instrumentation in a low volume, high complexity, and highly regulated technology environment.
- Provide support for quality aspects of product manufacture and promptly resolve issues to ensure daily output targets are met.
- Assess manufacturing outputs to verify product quality before shipment.
- Maintain accurate quality records by completing, maintaining, and reviewing all necessary paperwork and test data for each system/module.
- Process parts efficiently to meet production output targets and assigned plant metrics.
- Investigate root causes of failures for in-process rejected parts and warranty return parts to eliminate repeat failures.
- Develop, improve, and uphold good manufacturing practices and workmanship standards with a focus on quality and process robustness.
- Utilize theoretical knowledge and practical experience to identify causes of malfunction and non-conformance in the electrical, hydraulic, and chemical operation of systems and modules.
- Assist Engineering in the initial validation, installation, and verification of new test procedures, equipment, and products.
- Perform inspection operations on sub-assemblies, modules, and systems using engineering drawings, schematics, flow diagrams, specifications, and methodologies.
- Drive waste reduction and performance improvement initiatives leveraging process and product knowledge to enhance manufactured product quality.
Requirements:
- QQI Level 6 qualification (Diploma or higher) in Engineering or Science Discipline (e.g., Bio-Chemistry, Chemical, Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic) or Diploma/Trade qualification with relevant experience in automation/system manufacturing or support.
- Preferably have relevant experience in quality control and inspection.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to analyze data outputs for quality trends.
- Experience working in teams and on projects, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
Additional Information:
- Shift work may be required to meet supply demand.
