Systems Engineer - County Louth.
The key responsibilities of this position are to provide professional engineering services, included but not limited to:
• Responsibility for the Siemens PCS7 central control system to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively.
• Network Owner, responsible for all servers and control system software and communication.
• Design and programming of software for projects and plant modifications as required.
• Software modifications, fault finding, PID loop set-up and tuning, and assistance to engineers on control systems issues.
• Commissioning and signal checking for projects and plant modifications.
• Maintenance of operator stations and plant visualisation software.
• To coordinate the uploading of new software and upgrades where necessary.
• Coordinate activities with expert engineers from Control System suppliers
The role requires knowledge of Siemens PCS7 control systems combined with a strong technical background to interact with various departments at all stages of the production process.
Interested candidates should ideally possess:
• A minimum of 5 years’ relevant hands-on experience in industry together with a degree or similar qualification in a technical engineering related discipline.
• Experience of PCS7, Step 7, Simatic Manager Siemens PCS7and WinCC.
• Experience with Windows operating systems, security and network configuration.
• Experience with the following PLC programming languages: CFC, FBD and STL.
• Some exposure to SQL and a high-level programming language.
• Knowledge of system archiving/restoration and OT cyber security tools and practices.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
• Proven technical skills and business acumen.
The successful candidate will receive the necessary training to broaden their existing knowledge.
