My client, a science-based SME based in co.Carlow is seeking an experienced and multi-skilled NPI Engineer to support the transfer of medium volume products into production.

The successful candidate will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the other functions to deliver a multidisciplinary group effort (NPD, Operations, Quality, Purchasing and Sales & Marketing).

Job responsibilites:

  • Developing the full manufacturing process & establishing new manufacturing work spaces.

  • Identifing and sourcing key equipment for use in the manufacturing process.

  • Supporting with establishing and enabling a new supply chain in preparation for transfer to production of new products.

  • Assisting with supplier assessment and audit activities , where necessary.

  • Supporting with the definition of materials flow through the process, from incoming raw materialsthrough to shipping of finished goods.

  • Leading on any equipment & process validation activities and carry out any process FMEAs.

  • Drafting/developing manufacturing documentation, including SOPs and Work Instructions.

  • Taking responsibility for product testing through the various phases of the manufacturing process.

  • Taking responsibility for production equipment, including PMs, calibration and repair wherenecessary.

  • Supporting with resourcing and training of operators/technicians and manage training records.

  • Implementing efficient processes using Lean techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, etc.

  • Transfering engineering BOMs into the ERP system (SAP) and control manufacturing drawings.

  • Supporting with any additional responsibilities that may arise from time to time, which are not

    listed above.

Job requirements:

  • Degree qualified (Engineering preffered)
  • Good understanding of ERP systems (SAP preferable),
  • Manufacturing/assembly drawings and BOMs,
  • Experience in developing manufacturing documentation to a high standard.
  • Capability in areas such as DfX (Design for Manufacture, Assembly, Test, Maintainability, Reliability, etc.)
  • Strong familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, OEE, etc.
