They will require an understanding of the remit of the local authorities in structural matters and an appreciation of the applicable systems in place in these local authorities. The role will entail significant interface and consultation with local authorities and other stakeholders with a view to obtaining all requisite agreements.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering Design and / or the project managers as required, this person will be required to undertake and manage concept, preliminary and detailed design work to tight deadlines and be capable of operating with minimal supervision. Alongside this, he/she will be expected to manage and coordinate the advice, design and input from all relevant disciplines (internal and external)– including drainage, structures, survey, rolling stock, utilities, architecture, traffic, transport planning, environment, archaeology etc. - and stakeholders.
