Area Sales Manager – Global Sales: County Kildare.
Our client is an Irish-owned, award-winning technology company internationally recognised for its innovative R&D and product design. We are currently seeking to recruit an ambitious and commercially driven Area Sales Manager to support the company's continued international growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for a business graduate with proven experience in a similar role within an industrial or technical environment.
Reporting to the Global Distribution Sales Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing new global business opportunities. The role will focus on driving international sales growth, expanding distribution networks, and building long-term customer and partner relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. International Sales Execution
Support sales growth across global markets through proactive lead generation, follow-up, and opportunity development with assigned distributor and customer accounts.
2. Distributor & Customer Relationship Management
Build, maintain, and develop strong long-term relationships with international distributors and key B2B customers to support repeat business and account growth.
3. New Market & Channel Development
Identify and support new distributor relationships and emerging market opportunities in line with the company’s global sales strategy.
4. Technical Sales Support
Support product demonstrations and technical discussions, engaging confidently with engineering, quality, and manufacturing stakeholders (training provided).
5. Trade Shows & International Engagement
Attend selected international trade shows, distributor meetings, and customer visits to support lead generation, relationship development, and market presence.
6. Internal Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, product, marketing, and operations teams to communicate customer requirements, application feedback, and market insights.
7. Sales Reporting & CRM Management
Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and opportunity reporting through the company CRM systems, supporting structured forecasting and sales reviews.
8. Market & Customer Feedback
Provide structured feedback on customer needs, competitor activity, and market trends to support product development, innovation, and commercial decision making.
Interested applicants should have:
Degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in a commercial sales or business development role, ideally within an international or export-focussed environment.
Previous experience selling technical products, ideally within vision inspection, industrial inspection, metrology, automation, or related measurement technologies.
Commercial & Technical Capability:
- Proven ability to identify, develop, and progress sales opportunities in a B2B environment.
- Comfortable engaging with engineering, quality, and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness, with an understanding of pricing, margins, and sales processes.
- Confident using CRM systems and structured sales reporting tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to customers and partners.
Well organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Self-motivated, curious, and commercially minded, with a desire to develop within an international sales role.
This is primarily an office-based role in County Kildare, with occasional international travel.
Foreign language skills are an advantage, but not essential.
