The Role:

A unique opportunity with national/international construction group, based in Dublin HQ. Delivering major projects for multi-national corporations, private companies, local & state authorities across Ireland, UK & Europe.

Sectors include traditional construction, property development, data, bio-med, pharma, power-gen, commercial, institutional, social infrastructure & property development.

Commercial management expertise within construction, infrastructure, ICT, or data centre projects.

The Candidate:

You will be responsible for pre-construction, cost management, maximising commercial performance on projects within the group & its subsidiaries while managing/motivating a team of estimating, surveying & procurement staff.

Also contribute at Senior Executive level introducing innovative business methodology, strategic planning for continued growth and diversification.

The Opportunity:

A ‘critical’ appointment, based in Dublin (with hybrid options), integrated into the company growth trajectory and succession strategy for the Executive Management Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project budgets, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Lead contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Monitor cash flow, valuations, invoicing, and project profitability.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Collaborate with project and engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Infrequent European travel to project sites and clients (three or four times a quarter).

Requirements:

• Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or proven construction, mechanical or electrical engineering experience.
• Commercial management expertise within construction, infrastructure, ICT, or data centre projects.
• Basic knowledge of cabling, fibre optic and end-to-end ICT solutions, in-depth experience not essential.
