Maintenance Electrician - County Cavan.

Our client seeks a hands-on Maintenance Electrician to set up, install and maintain and support manufacturing equipment to ensure optimum performance and support the achievement of operation goals. The candidate should enjoy practical work and be able to cope with the physical demands of the job.

The role will operate on a shift rotation (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm) and have intermittent on-call weeks. This job works as a part of an integral and talented maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible to plan layout, install, repair or replace wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment.
• Support and maintain Preventive Maintenance Routines on machines & equipment.
• Repair and maintain electrical machines, equipment and devices.
• Advise & support production team in maximising plant efficiencies.
• Identify & resolve recurring downtime/inefficient operational issues.
• Follow diagrams or layouts of wiring and equipment, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring to the required standard.
• Installs or modifies electrical wiring assemblies and accessories, control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels to machines, equipment and switchgear and other electrical devices to the required electrical standard.
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or systems, to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Work closely with the maintenance team and with outside contractors to perform necessary maintenance, repair or installation of machines and equipment as required.
• To work on shift and callout as determined by the schedule.
• Adhere to Safety, Emergency and ISO & IPIC Procedures.

Interested applicants should possess:

• Electrical Trade Qualification with a minimum of 1 year's experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience of electrical fault-finding and proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair.
• A solid understanding of electrical industrial equipment and machinery.
• Knowledge or experience of PM Software.
• Self-motivated qualities, working well on own initiative and requiring minimal supervision.
• Proven flexibility and a proactive attitude.
